First Time Voter - Denied

I turned 18 in 2000. In Hampton, Va., I attempted to vote for the first time. However, I was not educated on voting rights. I was turned away from voting because I didn't have a voter registration card or the proper ID. I don’t believe provisional ballets were given at that time. And, I did not fight it. Because of that I have missed the opportunity to vote.
